MOST SPORTS ARE PLAYED against opponents, except for things like pole vaulting and gymnastics. Football pitches eleven people against eleven other people. Table tennis pitches one person against one other person.
Then there are sports that are played at the same time as an opponent. Sports like darts and golf. When you play darts or golf you’re playing a solo game, at the same time as someone else is playing their solo game. There’s literally no interaction between the two participants. In snooker, the frame you play is the one left you by your opponent. But in darts and golf, you just pick up from where you left off.
The main thing a darts player has to do is throw an arrow into the treble twenty box. And that’s it. So why do they so often miss? Shouldn’t they… I don’t know. Practice more, maybe?
